Are cats pure carnivores?
Cats are obligate carnivores, i.e. meat eaters. They need meat and animal proteins for a complete supply of nutrients. However, cats also consume some of the prey's organs, which means that they also eat other food components (grasses, herbs, cereals, vegetables and fruit) that are beneficial for digestion.
Are there low-calorie varieties?
Yes, our MeatCrisp Sterilised has a reduced calorie content and is therefore generally suitable for cats with a lower energy metabolism, especially indoor-only cats and neutered cats.
Do PLATINUM snacks for cats exist?
We currently do not have any snacks for cats in our range. However, our MeatCrisp is very suitable as a small reward or treat for in between meals and can also be used, for example, in “fiddle boards” and other intelligence toys. The croquettes of our dry kitten food are slightly smaller and therefore also good to use as treats.
Does PLATINUM perform animal experiments?
No, you can rely on the fact that no animal experiments are done for the product development and production of our food and care products - neither by us, nor by any other third party.
How do I switch to MeatCrisp?
Cats are "creatures of habit". They orientate themselves on what they are used to eating and not on the quality of the food. We therefore recommend the substitution method for the changeover. This involves gradually replacing the familiar cat food with more and more MeatCrisp cat food. This way your cat can slowly get used to the new, natural meat taste of MeatCrisp. The proportional amount of MeatCrisp can be steadily increased over the following days. After about a week, your cat will usually be used to the new food. If, contrary to expectations, your cat still refuses the food, go back to the familiar food and try the changeover in smaller steps. Please do not let your cat starve, as this can be life-threatening for your cat!
How high is the meat content in Meatcrisp?
PLATINUM MeatCrisp contains at least 82 % fresh meat. This fulfils the basic need of a healthy cat for a high meat content. Unlike other animals, cats obtain their energy mainly from meat or protein, which is why their metabolism is designed for a high-protein content in their diet and can metabolise meat very well.
How is Meatcrisp prepared?
MeatCrisp is prepared with a fresh meat dehydrator, making it possible to prepare a complete dry food for cats using fresh meat for the first time. The extraordinary thing about the fresh meat dryer is that it preserves the natural micronutrients and amino acids of the fresh meat. This is because the fresh meat dryer crisps fresh meat with other ingredients that are important for cat health at a low temperature and with circulating air. The slow and even drying process preserves the natural flavour of the meat as well as the right nutritional composition for your cat's health. MeatCrisp is therefore extremely tasty for your cat — even without attractants.
How many times a day should I feed my cat?
Several small meals a day are best for cats. However, you should decide on an individual basis how many meals your cat needs per day according to its eating habits. You should never offer more than one daily ration per day. For cats that divide their portion themselves, it is possible to refill the daily ration once a day. However, cats that always eat their portions directly should be given several smaller meals per day. Feeding from automatic feeders is also possible and MeatCrisp is ideal for this.
Is a (too) high protein content harmful for my cat?
A cat's metabolism is designed to obtain energy from protein. As a carnivore, cats are dependent on a high protein content and can metabolise it very well. Therefore, a high protein content is not harmful at all for your cat.
Whatis different about MeatCrisp cat food compared to conventional cat food?
Our MeatCrisp cat food is characterised by its very high fresh meat content (at least 82% fresh meat), as well as its preparation method, which takes advantage of low temperatures and circulating air in the fresh meat dryer to preserve the natural micronutrients and amino acids of the fresh meat. This fulfils your cat's natural nutritional requirements. Our unique preparation method preserves the natural fresh meat flavour, resulting in a high level of acceptance of our food. Your cat will love MeatCrisp — we're sure of it!
That's why we offer a 100-day money-back guarantee.
What is the best way to store MeatCrisp?
To avoid loss of flavour, please store MeatCrisp in the original bag. The integrated hook-and-loop fastener allows it to be easily and securely closed again and again in an airtight manner. To avoid contamination with parasites or germs, we advise against decanting into other containers.
Why is fresh meat used for MeatCrisp?
Fresh meat has a higher nutritional content, a higher biological value, and a higher protein digestibility compared to meat and bone meals, which are usually used in conventional cat food. Furthermore, meat and bone meal do not contain the nutritious flavour carrier fat and nutrient-rich meat juices, which are present in fresh meat. This is due to the effect of high
temperatures during the production of meat and bone meal. This negative effect is exacerbated in conventional feed production, as the extrusion process most commonly used involves high temperatures combined with high pressure.
MeatCrisp, on the other hand, is prepared using a fresh meat dryer. This is the first time that it has been possible to prepare a complete dry food for cats from fresh meat. The extraordinary thing about the fresh meat dryer is that it preserves the natural micronutrients and amino acids of the fresh meat. This is because the fresh meat dryer crisps the fresh meat with other ingredients that are important for cat health at a low temperature and with circulating air. The slow and even drying process preserves the natural flavour of the meat as well as the right nutritional composition for your cat's health. MeatCrisp is therefore extremely tasty for your cat — even without attractants.
Why is there Taurine in Meatcrisp and how much is there?
Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats. This means that the cat cannot produce this amino acid itself and must take it in with the food. The amount of taurine contained in MeatCrisp meets the needs of a healthy cat.
Is the food suitable for pregnant/lactating cats?
MeatCrisp is a complete food, so is suitable for pregnant and lactating cats. However, due to the higher energy and nutrient requirements, the quantity should be adjusted accordingly and Adult or Kitten varieties should be used.
When can I start feeding the kitten food MeatCrisp kitten?
From the 6th week of life you can offer our kitten food to the kittens and slowly get them used to it.
