Can I change easily between the different adult dry dog food varieties?
Yes, a change can be made anytime, and different varieties can be fed on the same day. You can therefore vary flexibly depending on your dog's preferences.
Are the snacks suitable for puppies?
Our snacks prepared with FSG are also ideal for training puppies and young
dogs. The feeding recommendations should of course be followed.
Can dogs digest such a high proportion of fresh meat?
Healthy dogs are geared towards a meat-based diet simply because of their teeth and intestinal tract. Canines and fangs are not found in herbivores. A dog's intestine is also optimised for the absorption of nutrients from meat, as it is short — significantly shorter than in humans and many times shorter than in a pure herbivore. The structure of a dog's body
therefore leaves us in no doubt that physical well-being and lasting health can be achieved with meat as the main component of the diet.
Is it normal for my dog to produce softer or harder faeces after changeover?
Yes, because conventional dog food is digested differently as dog food prepared with FSG. The digestive tract has to adjust to the new food and the higher digestibility. We therefore always recommend an immediate change of dog food without a transition phase, as mixing PLATINUM food with another food is not advisable due to the different digestibility.
What is the best way to store PLATINUM dry dog food?
We recommend storing our dry food in the included bag. The food is packed airtight in the bag immediately after production and is not stored temporarily. To keep the contents as fresh and flavourful as possible, our bags have an integrated freshness seal.
What is the difference between regular dry food and mini dry food?
The only difference is the size of the kibble. The recipe and preparation method remain identical in all sizes to ensure consistent quality and optimum nutrition.
Which dog breeds are the Mini’s suitable for?
The size of the kibble makes it suitable for small dogs up to 10 kg. However, you can also use our Mini dry food for training larger dog breeds or if your four-legged friend generally prefers smaller kibble.
Which type of dry food is suitable for sensitive dogs?
Our dog food is basically created for healthy dogs. For dogs with sensitive digestion, Adult Iberico (Mini) has proven to be particularly suitable. The Iberian pork is an exclusive, original breed of pork with nutrient-rich, low-cholesterol meat that contains many unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin B1. As a rare source of protein, it is well tolerated by many food-sensitive dogs — even though it is not a monoprotein food.
With VETACTIVE Sensitive, we also offer food-sensitive dogs a targeted alternative. The recipe with turkey, 70 % fresh meat and a plant-based sensitive complex is specially formulated for more sensitive dogs. We recommend VETACTIVE Hypoallergenic for dogs with known intolerances or allergies. This dog food also contains Iberian pork as an exclusive source of meat and a reduced list of ingredients — for particularly high tolerance.
Why is PLATINUM a complete food?
Thanks to its balanced ingredients, PLATINUM dog food is sufficient as a complete diet. Tailored to the needs of a healthy dog, our food prepared with FSG contains all the important minerals, trace elements, and vitamins your dog needs. PLATINUM dog food is also characterised by its high fresh meat content.
Why does PLATINUM process fresh meat?
Compared to conventional dry food, which is mainly made from meat meal, dog food prepared with FSG requires at least 70% fresh meat (muscle meat) to make PLATINUM dry food. There is a big difference between meat meal and fresh meat. Compared to fresh meat, meat meal is significantly inferior, as it is only produced after repeated heating under high pressure. As a result, meat meal has fewer nutrients, a higher ash content and lower protein digestibility than fresh meat. We know from cooking that meat juices and meat fat are what make a roast dinner a treat — which is why we don't prepare our Sunday roast with meat meal. Thanks to the process of cooking with FSG, PLATINUM dry food is completely free from attractants, flavourings, colourings, odours, and flavour enhancers.
Why do you not offer different foods for different dog breeds?
Every dog is descended from the wolf, and the digestive tract is designed for the consumption of meat. Our dry food and wet food are designed to be easily consumed by all dogs - from Chihuahuas to Great Danes - and meet the needs of all breeds equally. Different sizes of dry food and wet food make it easier to portion out the food. The recipe and composition remain identical in all sizes to ensure consistent quality and optimum nutrition.
Does PLATINUM perform animal experiments?
No, you can rely on the fact that no animal experiments are done for the product development and production of our food and care products - neither by us, nor by any other third party.
